CSC chose to rely on SaM Solutions to take care of the entire eSilva development lifecycle due to SaM’s
- extensive experience in developing applications for the insurance industry;
- superior J2EE know-how required to imlement CSC’s expectations;
- offshore development model that reduces both cost and time-to-market.
Solution
Upon careful analysis of customer’s expectations, SaM Solutions worked out a complete specification of the envisioned product, and proposed the optimal technical approach to its implementation.
After 2 years of intensive development (2000-2002) Sam’s experts delivered a complex, yet highly configurable and easy-to-use web application called eSilva, successfully taking it through the design, development, and testing stages.
The final production-ready version of eSilva brought the advantages of:
- Centralized storage of data on all business activities and transactions, which allows streamlining business processes at the Point of Sale significantly, and minimizes sync issues;
- Strong customer and partner orientation. eSilva incorporates all industry’s B2B and B2C processes providing seamless integration of multiple sales channels;
- High availability. As a web solution, eSilva makes business data accessible 24/7/365 by just using a browser, while at the same time ensuring an appropriate level of security;
- Cross-platform consistency delivered by the J2EE technology, which allows using eSilva on multiple platforms, and with different clients;
- Open and modular architecture, which makes adding new functionality easy via external modules. Customizing the solution to suit individual business needs is a breeze;
In addition, SaM’s business analysts and software architects worked hard on eSilva’s business logic to accommodate the specifics of the German insurance market.
Results
With SaM responsible for the whole product development lifecycle, CSC was able to:
- offer financial and insurance service providers a unique all-in-one solution designed to significantly improve customer loyalty and retention;
- reduce both cost and time-to-market when developing eSilva, by utilizing SaM’s offshore programming model.
