We at SaM Solutions believe that our 16 years-long success story isn-t just based on luck or sheer coincidence, but rather came from the outstanding quality and performance of our employees, which again was built upon early strategic decisions of it-s management team.

Local Presence



From it-s first days, SaM Solutions had a local presence in Munich/Germany and later on founded subsidiaries in the Netherlands, the United States of America, the UK and Latvia.

Not only are we within close reach of our customers, but we can provide local services which are generally not available from offshore companies.

Contracts can be made based on local jurisdiction, and invoicing is being done based on local fiscal requirements. None of our customers therefore have to deal with foreign law or fiscal systems.

Beyond this, we can also employ Project Managers and other specialists, working onsite with our customers.

Excellent Nearshore Location



The geographic proximity to Europe with only 1 hr time shift vs. CET, and only 2 hours flight time between Vienna and Minsk allows us to work virtually within the same time zone as our european customers. This is a major advantage against our asian competitors.

Even with 6 hours time shift to our customers in the eastern United States we are relatively close. Daily direct flights to Minsk are offered from Frankfurt, Vienna, Prague and Warsaw. Business Visas, necessary for travel from/to Europe and the United States, are issued usually within a few days, so travels from and to Minsk are really easy. As such we enjoy hassle-free cooperation, travel and communications.

The cultural proximity to western Europe is another main advantage against our asian competitors. Historically, the territory of today-s Belarus belonged to Lithuania, Poland, Russia and the Soviet Union at various times, and some areas also were part of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. There were no cultural or ethnic conflicts in the last two centuries, and also the independence process from the Soviet Union was completely peaceful.

Already at the time of the Soviet Union, Minsk was called the Silicon Valley of eastern Europe. This is one of the reasons for the country-s today's excellent commercial and technical position. Every year, the county-s 11 universities produce several thousand graduates in IT and similar fields. The quality of the studies, and its practical contents are absolutely first class, also by western measures. This has been confirmed many times by our customers.

With access to the most up-to-date Software and Hardware Technologies, our development labs are meeting to the most advanced western standards, even when the outside of some of our older buildings would not easily reveal this. We have 3x redundant high speed internet access, air conditioning for most offices, power stand-by units, daily automatic backup, a digital telephone system with video conferencing facility, and mobile phones for those who directly talk to our customers.

Almost all of our developers speak English, and many of them also German. For Project Leaders, english is mandatory. SaM Solutions offers free language courses for english and german to all employees.

Based on many years of cooperation with the technical universities in Minsk, SaM Solutions has access to the best students and graduates, already during their time at the campus. By offering internships and diploma dissertations, we lay the groundwork for our new blood.

The Government of Belarus is well aware of the opportunity of the outsourcing industry and started development of the Hi-Tech Zone, a government-promoted industry park, with SaM Solutions as a member.

Based on relatively low cost of living in Belarus, we are able to offer our services at very attractive rates. Admitted, also our cost did go up over the last years. However, in comparison with India and the new EU members in eastern Europe, but also Ukraine, these were very moderate. As such, we are able to offer a significant price advantage, and current trends point towards even higher gaps.

Our Business Model



With our attractive services, we want to increase the competitive position of our customers. The business model of SaM Solutions supports this target.

SaM Solutions is represented by a team of very experienced Managers, everyone with more than 16 years of industry expertise in their relevant markets.

We offer a wide palette of development skill sets, and also a deep pocket of applications and industry segment know-how. We work with the most up-to-date methodologies and development tools, but still offer know-how in legacy code like Cobol.

Our customers are virtually from all industry segments, including government, and we work for software companies, IT departments of large corporations, but also as subcontractor for system integrators or prime contractors. Examples of our customers are Siemens AG, European Patent Office, Deutsche Post, SUSE Linux, Open Exchange, Lexware and others. None of our customers however represents more than 25% of our total revenue.

Our Distributed Development Model



The many years of successful offshore services for our customers have told us, that none of the very formal methodologies, be it ISO, CMMI or any adaptive process, is capable of universally addressing all project or customer requirements.

This is why we discuss, together with the customer, the best strategy fitting the individual need of the given project.

Well proven is a distributed development model, with

  • an Onsite Team, working closely with the customer, documenting all technical and business requirements, and communicating closely with the
  • Offshore Team, which is responsible for an efficient and high quality implementation.

In between there is pro-active, regular and frequent, direct communications with precise documentation of results, decisions, things-to-do, deadlines and responsibilities.
